copper: I will show how to make copper malate. You will need high purity copper (99.9%) strips, malic acid & a slow cooker. I am now making this & it works perfectly; keep it in the frig. Copper citrate can be made in a similar way, but the solution deteriorates with time, with some black copper oxide being formed – not harmful, but it weakens the solution. This was also happening with the malate, but refrigeration stopped it – maybe also with the citrate.
magnesium ascorbate: Easy to make – another form of vit C. It has a neutral taste.
zinc citrate: An alternative to zinc malate.

This post shows you how to make certain supplements. Science has been a major part of my life. With a B.Sc in physics/maths/chemistry & 35 years teaching physics & chemistry, I have an advantage, but anyone can follow a recipe & also gain an understanding of chemical formulae & equations.

Small cup (no handle) to sit on scale
Chemicals: distilled water e.g. Pure Dew 6 litres; 10 litres cheaper – pour into used 6 litre.
Food Grade:
oxides: magnesium (iHerb-NOW 227g), zinc (Pure Nature -NZ)
bicarbonates: sodium (baking soda); possibly potassium
organic acids: ascorbic (The Sourcery -NZ), citric , malic (The Sourcery)
*Citric acid & baking soda are easy to source. I get ours from Moore Wilson.
Try & keep air (oxygen & water vapour) out of containers – zip lock bags / large containers to smaller ones.
Most chemical reaction are endothermic – heat is absorbed – heat to 50 – 60 deg C until the solution clears.
Some are exothermic – heat is evolved – not noticeable for zinc salts.
A suspension or a deposit may appear in some solutions with time – especially with citrates. The solution is still OK – the same substances are still present, even in the deposit or suspension. I don’t make large batches to last a long time.

CHLORINE DIOXIDE SOLUTION – CDS:
A DIYer can make this. Citric acid (rather than hydrochloric acid) is easy to buy, but not sodium chlorite (from Turkey or Australia}.

zinc ascorbate:
More palatable than zinc citrate I believe; it does not form a sediment.
ZnO + 2HC6H7O6 —> ZnC6H7O6 + H2O + heat (not noticeable)
81.4g 352g
ZnO: 0.4g / ascorbic acid: 1.73g (1.8g OK)/ water: 480ml (2x 240ml cups)
Put all 3 in a pot & whisk on setting 1 – perhaps 1/2 min; let it settle & whisk again if still a white sediment.
A little undissolved ZnO is no problem -stirring a little after every use will make it dissolve. Transfer to a jar or jars. Keep in a cupboard.
Calculation: Zn 65.4g ZnO 65.4+16 = 81.4g
Mass of zinc is (65.4/81.4)x0.4 = 0.32g = 320mg = 16x20mg doses
I suggest 20mg/day. So 16 days for 1 person
2T = 30ml per dose of 20mg (16×30 = 480ml)
*100g of ZnO makes 100/0.4 batches = 250×16 doses So 4,000 days = about 11 years for 1 person.
My order was done without calculation – 500g! For my wife & I – about 27 years – will I reach 107?!

A supplement of copper is also needed: 1/8 of Zn = 2.5mg

copper malate:
Pour 500 ml distilled water into a slow cooker.
Add 5 g malic acid & stir to dissolve.
Cut 8 2cmx5cm copper strips form a sheet of 99.9% pure copper & bend them slightly so that they will stand up on their edges. Weigh together.
Place the copper strips in the cooker – not touching.
Heat on high for 1/2 hr, switch to low for 9.5 hr.
Remove strips, wash, dry & weigh.
Measure the volume of solution.
Calculate the weight loss. e.g 90 mg which gives about 44 2mg doses (1.5 to 2.5 mg OK).
If the volume of solution is, say, 450 ml, then each dose is 10 ml = 2t

magnesium malate:
More palatable than magnesium citrate I believe.
MgO + H2C4H4O5 + heat —> MgC4H4O5 + H2O
40.3g 134.1g
MgO: 8.7g / malic acid: 28.95g (29g OK)/ water: 400ml
Put all 3 in a pot & heat to about 55 C while stirring now & then. It will clear.
Transfer to a jar or jars & keep in a cupboard.
Calculation: Mg 24.3g MgO 39g
Mass of magnesium is (24.3/40.3)x8.7 = 5.25g = 5,250mg = 26x200mg doses
1 T = 15ml per dose of 200mg (26×15 = 390ml)
I suggest 400 mg/day = 2×200 mg doses. So, 13 days for 1 person.

Master tonic – Recipe
You may want to wear gloves during the preparation, especially when handling hot peppers, because it is difficult to get the tingling off your hands! Be careful, its smell is very strong, and it may stimulate the sinuses instantly.
Ingredients:
24 oz /700 ml apple cider vinegar (always use organic)
¼ cup finely chopped garlic
¼ cup finely chopped onion
2 fresh peppers, the hottest you can find (be careful with the cleaning – wear gloves!!!)
¼ cup grated ginger
2 tbsp grated horseradish
2 tbsp turmeric powder or 2 pieces of turmeric root
Preparation:
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl, except for the vinegar.
Transfer the mixture to a Mason jar.
Pour in some apple cider vinegar and fill it to the top. It is best if 2/3 of the jar consist of dry ingredients, and fill in the rest with vinegar.
Close well and shake.
Keep the jar in a cool and dry place for 2 weeks. Shake well several times a day.
After 14 days, squeeze well and strain the liquid through a plastic strain. For better results put a gauze over it. Squeeze well so the whole juice comes out.
Use the rest of the dry mixture when cooking.
Your master tonic is ready for use. You do not need to keep the tonic in your fridge. It will last for long.

Extra Tip: You can also use it in the kitchen – mix it with some olive oil and use it as a salad dressing or in your stews.
Caution: The flavor is very strong and hot!
Extra Tip: Eat a slice of orange, lemon or lime after you take the tonic to ease the burning sensation and heat.
Gargle and swallow.
Do not dilute it in water as it will reduce the effect.
Dosing:
Take 1 tablespoon every day to strengthen the immune system and fight cold.
Increase the amount every day until you reach a dose of 1 small glass per day (the size of a liquor glass).
